The fearful journey to Transition
I fear for you my sisters.
I fear for you who are starting your transition.
I don’t want you to suffer.
I don’t want you to witness the shock on your partner’s face when you tell them.
I don’t want to hear about your children and family disowning you.
I don’t want you to be judged and ridiculed.
I don’t want you to look in the mirror and wish the reflection was different day after day.
I don’t want you to spend all the time, money and pain it takes to get there.
I don’t want you to physically transition and then realize that you know absolutely nothing about life as a woman.
I don’t want you to experience violence for being who you are.
I don’t want you to experience discrimination for being who you are.
I don’t want you to feel despair for being who you are.
I don’t want to lose you.
Any of you.
I fear for you my sisters.
I hold you in my heart.
