The challenges are innumerable. I celebrated the first time I was called ‘bitch, ‘ but that joy was short lived. I owned my own company when I transitioned and had become accustomed to a certain level of respect. That all changed after transition. People who worked with the most male me suddenly treated me quite differently. My physical transition was dramatic enough that they didn’t realize I was the same person.
