I don’t feel like I’m in recovery any longer. It’s healed and it feels like it was always there. It’s remarkable how we can adjust to something as profound as a new genitalia. I’m certainly more confident in the pool or the beach! My boyfriend wouldn’t have been possible with my former equipment. That had become increasingly clear before my surgery. If I wanted a love based relationship, a vagina was the only way.

I wish you well for your surgery. I hope COvID fades and you can stay on your schedule without any hiccups! It’s a big surgery and it will take at least 3 months to feel good again, so definitely plan for that. Also, remember to be kind to yourself about dilation. I wanted to get the largest dilator in as fast as possible, and I think it caused me some unnecessary anxiety. It’s a process. You will get there, but it’s a major thing for your body to recover from and time is the most important element.

All the best sister!
