I definitely had no idea. The anxiety when you are approached particularly by groups of young men. That’s completely different as a woman. I do want to ask if you have felt the “sizing up” men do with each other? This is something that is difficult to explain to a woman who hasn’t lived as a man. If a man encounters another man, there is often a “who is alpha” moment. Depending on your “alpha-ness” and theirs the vibe can be significant. Sometimes there’s a “shoulder check” or something to affirm who is the alpha. If it’s in question or unsettled it may result in a fight, especially among younger alpha men. Sadly, this plays out in larger arenas up to a National level often with devastating results. One might go as far as to say WWI and the subsequent ripples of violence through WWII and beyond are the result of a pissing contest between European royalty trying to prove who was the “alpha.” Primitive and sad from my perspective, but definitely built into male DNA.
