I agree 100%. We are such complex creatures. Intelligence is as varied as our fingerprints. I do need to agree also that it has been gendered. After transitioning my sudden apparent loss of intelligence in others' eyes was impossible to ignore. Even people (men) who know my past and my numerous capabilities feel very comfortable lecturing me on topics I in fact know better than they do. I could go to battle with them every time it happens, but I learned quickly that approach only garnered me the label "bitch" or "ball buster." I witness other women looking across the table at me and sharing a moment when men do this in social situations. It would be funny if it weren't so commonplace and degrading. I could go on, but I'm sure it's just more of what you already knew long before I came to the party.
